Ó, mikor volt már az a bűvös 18? Tán sosem voltam annyi…
Mindenesetre a legutolsó munkám kapcsán kellemesen elméláztam. Jó, hát albumot az én ifjúságom is megérne, csak hát fotók híján némi kutatómunkát igényelne… Szerencsére napjainkban már sem eszköz, sem hajlandóság nem befolyásolja, hogy jóformán mindent dokumentálni tudjunk a gyerekünk életéből. És az összegyűlt képekből albumot készíttetni 18. születésnapra, milyen jófejség már!
Oh, when was that magical 18? Maybe I have never been so old…
Anyway, apropos of my latest work I have been pleasantly thinking about it. Well, my youth would be worth of an album too, but for the lack of photos it takes some research… Luckily no device or willingness affects nowadays to document everything of our child’s life. And to make an album of these photos, how cool idea it is!
A következő album tulajdonosának anyukájával sokat beszélgettem telefonon. Letisztáztuk az albummal kapcsolatos részleteket (bár teljes mértékben szabad kezet kaptam), és mesélt Gergőről is. Ha nem ismerősnek alkotok, akkor szeretek többet tudni az ajándékozottról, hogy ne csak a fotók alapján ért benyomásaimra hagyatkozzam. Abban a hitben vagyok, hogy így személyesebbre tudom szabni. Jelen esetben nagyon sok fotót kaptam, ami picit kétségbe is ejtett, mert ilyen mennyiséggel úgy éreztem nem bírok el ebben a pici albumban. És bár szelektáltunk, a montázsokkal mégis sok fotó belekerülhetett.
I’ve been talking a lot to the mother of the album owner on the line. We were making it clear what the album should like (but I have been given a free hand), and she told me about Gergő. If I am working for someone I don’t know, I prefer to get to know more of the person – not only having the photos and my impressions of them. I think I can make it more personal this way. In this case I have got many many photos, and that drove me to despair, because I felt like a cannot put so many photos in a little album.
Az elrendezést blokkokra szedtük: család, tánc, sport, napjaink. Krisztina kérésére az album elejébe egy tasakot varrtam, amibe Gergő születési karszalagja került (a fotó kedvéért az egyik lányomét tettem bele 😉 ).
And though we have selected the photos, I could put many photos in by making photo montages. We made some blocks regarding to the composition: family, dancing, sports, these days. Krisztina asked to sew a pocket to the beginning of the album, so that she can put his arm-badge of birth in it (for the sake of the photo I put my daughter’s badge in it 😉 ).
A színeket az egész albumban a fotók határozták meg, nem egy készletből alkottam. Belül több helyre került tag és zseb Krisztina személyes üzenetei számára. A kötést spirállal oldottam meg, a záródását pedig mágnesesre készítettem. Az album borítójára Silhouettel vágtam ki a feliratot.
The colours were influenced by the colours of the photos; I haven’t worked from one collection. I made several tags and pockets for the personal messages of Krisztina. I bound the album with a spiral, and to close it I used a magnet. For the cover I cut the title with Silhouette.
Annyira vagánynak tartom, hogy – bár remélem, nem egyhamar- hasonló albumot a saját gyerekeimnek is készítenék majd!
I think it is such a cool idea that – I hope it won’t come soon – I would love to make such an album for my children too.
